Will the real Richard D please stand up?

Will the real Richard D please stand up?

In a recent article - Deconstructing Nuclear Experts and here Professor Chris Busby stated that Richard Wakeford, using the pseudonym "Richard D", had set up a website attacking him. Dr. Wakeford has categorically rejected this, especially the implicit accusation that he is using a cloak of anonymity. He calls this "a cowardly action". He says "I am most certainly not "Richard D" and I want this publicly corrected."

LLRC entirely agrees with Dr. Wakeford that anonymity on the internet is cowardly and is pleased to accept his assurance. Professor Busby has also accepted it.

As a result of discussions over this matter Dr. Wakeford has invited Professor Busby to submit an article to the Journal of Radiological Protection, which he edits, on one of the main points made on the anonymous website. This concerns childhood leukaemia in north Wales coastal towns and mistakes made by Dr. John Steward and colleagues in calculating the populations of the towns. This error had the effect of diluting the excess risks. Professor Busby is critical of a paper by Dr. Steward published by JRP and of Dr. Wakeford's comments in a JRP Editorial. We look forward to a resolution.
